Never mind the story of them — this is the story of US!
A long, long time ago in a land not that far from here, Megan, Shayne, and I met up for a surprise engagement session. Boy was I surprised! No, wait, wrong. 😅 Shayne ever-so-sweetly set up this surprise session for Megan to capture pictures of the two of them following their engagement and to get ready for their upcoming wedding.
First, we ended up in two different places due to my misunderstanding of the final location that Shayne chose. Then when I raced to where they were, we realized it was getting dark way too fast. Winter in Colorado! So we raced back to the location where I had originally been waiting, and we made fun and magic happen in a land we can no longer access (Waldo Canyon). But it turns out, the hike up and heights at this location were a bit of an issue, so we had to work through some of that as well. (And I learned to ask clients if they had a fear of heights when pitching certain spots in the area, just in case.)
Still, Shayne and Megan were incredibly beautiful and their love was no match for the mishaps and heights.
I had a blast with them but I left fully expecting to never get to work with them again. Location and the series of unfortunate events led me to this thought process — not only might they not be in this area again, but I probably messed up any chance even if they were by all the miscommunication. Little did I know, I was wrong wrong wrong, and we’ve shared many more laughs and mishaps and incredible moments over the last 10 years. Here’s to our future!
